Conditions

Which conditions might benefit from HMV?

These are conditions that damage the lungs which include: 

• Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
• Cystic Fibrosis (CF)

Or conditions that restrict the movement of air in and out of the body such as:

• Kyphoscoliosis
• Motor Neurone Disease (MND) 
• Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) 
• Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome (OHS) 

In addition, patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) in combination with an additional condition, may have an HMV device programmed to treat both conditions.
